Strictly speaking, ‘cultivar’ stands for cultural variety. Basically any plant produces different cultivars in order to survive the best it can within it’s surroundings.

Some varieties will grow longer leaves to protrude above other plants in its locale, some will produce vibrant red trap’s to tempt insects over other nearby vibrant species.

All cultivars of Dionaea Muscipula are essentially the same plant, genetically speaking, however the difference between each cultivar can be very striking.

See our Cultivars section for more info and photos.
